Life of Lucy Maud Montgomery
You will not believe who you will meet along the back roads in Durham! Your first stop will be in Leaskdale, north of Uxbridge, where you will tour the 1895 historic manse (home) of Lucy Maud Montgomery, who lived here for fifteen years and where she wrote eleven of her twenty-two novels, including Anne of Green Gables. You will also tour her garden and village church that created her literary imagination! A video will be shown at the church, as well as a delicious served lunch. You will then travel to the town of Port Perry to browse the quaint shops and to stroll the lakeside park. Your final stop will be the popular, White Feather Country Market and Tea Room where you can shop for local treats. This is an enjoyable countryside tour and intriguing to learn more about the life of this famous author.
